We Go On (2016) is a movie about a guy suffering from a multitude of phobias, primarily of his own mortality, offering $30,000 to anyone who can definitively prove there is life after death.
There is a lot I loved about this movie. It really gets into the nitty gritty of he received so, so many submissions trying to get his money, and his mom helps him weed through the phonies, and creeps, and he settles on just 3 potential candidates. I like this because all too often in movies they put out an ad like that get 6 million replies but the one and only reply they actually read is the winner, and I don't know why, but that just kills me and takes away some of the movie magic for me. After going through with these 3 potentials he meets a guy that works at a nearby airport, and finds that this man may actually hold the answer he is looking for, and things get incredibly intense as he gets closer and closer to the truth.
I would rate this movie 4 out of 5 skulls, using the Shudder rating scale. It was a solid movie worth the watch, and probably a rewatch down the road, but it isn't the type of movie I'm recommending to a friend unless they ask me first for a recommendation in this category. It was a good movie, it just didn't blow any lids for me. Some good jump scares, a creepy religious side, and some down right truths that don't need to be confronted made for a great night to snuggle up and get creeped out with though. You can find this movie on Shudder and Amazon with subscriptions. If you've seen it, I'd love to know what you thought! Leave me a comment below.
