The Dark and The Wicked (2020) is brought to us by the writer and director of the movie The Strangers (2008). The movie follows a pair of siblings who go back to the family farm after hearing their father has become ill, and is nearing the end of his life. Upon returning home they realize things aren't what they seem, and death takes its toll on the family.
I have very mixed emotions about this movie. It was a great story. Very creepy. However it seemed sooo long because of how slow it was. The entire movie could have been 20 minutes long, and it would've been excellent. The length of the movie, and drawn out scares definitely gave it some old school vibes, and built up quite a bit of suspense, but ultimately it lead to there being a lot of dead time, and time just simply filled with silence. I probably won't add this to my rewatch list, but I'm not mad I watched it.
You can find this movie on Shudder, Amazon Prime, and Vudu according to Google. I would rate it 3 out of 5 skulls on the Shudder rating scale, and I would love to know, if you've watched this movie what you think about it.
