I truly hope at this point in time you have seen the KFC/Colonel Sanders memes blowing up due to the slew of crazy things they have been launching lately. The best of which absolutely has to be A Recipe For Seduction, a Lifetime original mini-movie, link below becuase you SHOULD watch this if you haven't already it's only 16 minutes, but this shares the spotlight with the KFConsole a gaming system equipped with a heating tray to reheat your KFC fried chicken while gaming, and a in 2015 they begun releasing a DC Comics KFC story. But, this is a gaming review so let me just say the console is sort of genius, and I will be finding a way to read those comics - how could I not!
Anyways, I'm also going to attach some links to one of my favorite YouTuber's videos as he also did a video series on all of the KFC greatness that's happening in the world right now, and it was a great watch. Check out MatPat below.
On to the game, so this game is free to play on steam, and I did NOT watch MatPat play it, nor anyone else simply because I thought this would be the perfect time to download it, and play myself. So, this review is a personal account of my experience playing it just today, and my oh my, was I in for a treat.
So, I've played through the game in its entirety, and I suspect that there are multiple endings, however I only played through once, so those secret ingredients will remain a mystery. There was a lot of truly humorous things to this game, and if you are into anime, and over the top games its worth a play through, but my true warning here is simply this; it isn't much of a game where you play and strategize, instead it is a story with choices to make that lead to different endings. So, a choose your own adventure, and it is campy, and weirdly serious in its own right, but hilarious. I believe it was worth the one play through, but I probably won't pick it back up to get the other ending(s). One of my favorite things in the game is that when you begin to romance the hunk-of-a-colonel he tells you a secret ingredient and on the on-screen text it was redacted. I was laughing for a couple of minutes over this detail. The over all game play has one instance of turn by turn fight sequence, and very few, if any actually dating elements - take that as a good or a bad thing cause I'm not really sure. It was funny and I would definitely make my friends play, but once is enough. Have you played, watched, or seen any of these KFC themed things? Let me know below.
