Is Everyone Playing Among Us?

Among Us. The game where you are part of a space crew trying to make it back home, when 1-3 of your crewmates have been replaced by imposters, and it is up to you, and your crew to determine who the imposters are before its too late.

We are sure by now you have heard of this game. It would be hard to miss it between the videos, memes, posts, ads, and just about everywhere else this game has literally blown up in the last few months. As of November 9, 2020, Among Us had over 217 MILLION downloads on the mobile version alone, and has truly taken the gaming world by storm, and has wrecked InnerSloth's plans for an Among Us 2 in the best possible way. The sudden popularity of this game meant that Among Us 2 would be put on hold while they worked through some issues with the first game, and worked on creating more in game content, new maps, etc.

Why is this game so popular, and should you give it a try? - as if you haven't already! If you have seen the 1982 film The Thing then just imagine this to be the game version of that movie.

Social deduction games have been popularized for a while now like in Secret Hitler, Mafia, The Resistance, and Deception: Murder in Hong Kong. There are typically two teams of players one being the "good" guys, and the other the "bad" guys. And, using deductive reasoning determining who the bad guys are before they complete their mission. What separates Among Us from these games is the cute animations, and mix of tasks and other in game things to do to occupy yourself, and COVID 19. In a time of being unable to be face to face this game may make you feel too close to people as social deduction games often ignite some gamer rage. But, with the right group of people it can be a lot of fun and a great way to connect to those you can't be with face to face.

From this fan of Among Us, thank you InnerSloth for creating a game that is fun, meme worthy, and gives me a safe place to yell at my friends and family because let's face it my dad is acting totally sus' right now.
